An Associate Solicitor at Barratts, Debra has specialised in brain injury cases for many years, advising on everything from minor to very severe injuries involving children, adolescents, and adults.

Debra’s interest in brain injury rehabilitation and raising awareness of symptoms of brain injury has led her to become a Trustee and chairperson at Headway Derby, and she regularly attend training sessions, networking events and other local interest groups relating to head injuries.

Often clients are not aware that they have suffered a brain injury – or at least the extent of it, and how long it may take to recover – particularly if they have suffered other major injuries. Debra’s experience means that she is able to recognise and discuss areas of difficulty that may be concerning clients such as fatigue, reduced memory, lack of concentration, behavioural changes, lack of motivation, visual difficulties and many other symptoms, some of which can so easily be missed at first glance.

Debra has close ties with both the local NHS and private medical practitioners and is able to advise and assist with referrals, treatment, and case management to aid rehabilitation and recovery after a brain injury.

Passionate about delivering the best quality care and service, clients and contacts describe Debra as approachable, knowledgeable and professional. She will work tirelessly to prove liability if this is not straightforward and to recover maximum damages for her clients to support their recovery and their future.

Debra is accredited as a Senior Litigator member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), and for the Law Society Personal Injury Panel.
