I am head of the personal injury department at Leigh Day, and have been a qualified solicitor since 1986.
I have been a partner at the firm for the past 21 years, and am extremely proud that Leigh Day is renowned as one of the leading personal injury firms in the UK.
I specialise in high value personal injury claims including complex brain injury cases, and have regularly received plaudits in independent client guides such as Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 for the positive outcomes that my team and I have achieved for our clients.
Personal injury is a field that I feel extremely passionate about. Our clients have had their lives irrevocably changed and it is my responsibility to ensure they receive the financial redress they need so they can move forward with their lives in the best possible way.
My aim is to ensure that the interim payments and compensation awarded covers all their future needs in terms of rehabilitation, medical treatment, specialist equipment, home adaptations and loss of future earnings. I have a very proactive approach to cases and do my upmost to ensure clients receive the best possible rehab to maximise their chances of recovery and so that their family is supported.
Some of my recent cases have included recovering in excess of £22.5 million in damages for injured clients, including a case that settled for £7.8 million for a brain injured cyclist with complex lifelong care and therapy needs, and £5.8 million for an injured pedestrian with brain and psychological injuries which will prevent her from working and require her to have support. As brain injury cases are often lengthy (some taking 3-5 years for a settlement to be reached) I have developed close and lasting friendships with many of my clients. It has been a privilege to have helped them through an extremely difficult time as they adjust to their new lives.
I am a fellow of Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and as a firm we are accredited members of the Child Brain Injury Trust. I am also the current chair of Headway West London.
