As Head of Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Mental Capacity and partner for Enable Law, I’m based in the Plymouth office, where I specialise in pursuing clinical negligence claims on behalf of claimants. I’m pleased to deal with all claims but have a particular interest in claims resulting from brain injuries sustained at or shortly after birth and arising out of the management of orthopaedic injuries. Recent cases that I’ve won on behalf of clients include:-
- K vs. Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust, awarding £5.4 million for neurological injuries sustained at birth
- H vs. Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, awarding £3.2 million for the delayed diagnosis of a neural tube defect
- B vs. Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust awarding damages of £3.6 million for failure to properly monitor bilirubin levels, resulting in kernicterus (irreversible brain damage)
I’m committed to fighting for the best outcomes for people affected by brain injury and their families, and I share this passion outside work by playing an active role in local charities. I’m a Trustee of the Plymouth branch of Headway, and a Trustee of the Brain Injury Social Work Group. I have spoken and presented at numerous conferences and events including for Scope, the Meningitis Trust, the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM) conference and the Jacqueline Webb & Co Legal Conference.
I’m also a member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme and a Senior Litigator with APIL, and was pleased to be described as the following in Chambers UK guide to solicitors:
“Robert Antrobus speaks with real compassion. He wants to make the process as easy as possible through his manner and caring attitude to the family…. He reassured us with his caring manner, as well as his knowledge and experience”
