About Switalskis Solicitors
Switalskis Solicitors was founded in Wakefield in 1993 by the late Stephen Switalski. Originally established as a niche law firm specialising in Child Care and Criminal Law, their aim was to provide high quality advice and representation to some of the most vulnerable members of society.
Over the years Switalskis has grown from just one office to become one of the Yorkshire region’s largest legal firms, with excellent quality of advice and service at its heart. As a forward-looking firm with 22 Directors, and over 250 staff, Switalskis brings together some of the region’s most experienced lawyers, to provide exceptional service across all our areas of legal expertise.
Switalskis services cover a wide range of legal disciplines, including family and child care law, wills & probate, conveyancing and Court of Protection law. They also have teams dealing with complex claimant work such as clinical negligence and brain and serious injury cases. Switalskis’ lawyers recognise the diverse needs of their clients, and will take the time to understand your case, personally.
Mark Hollinghurst leads the specialist team of brain injury lawyers at Switalskis. The team acts for clients across Yorkshire and beyond who have suffered head injuries of all levels of severity, from minor to catastrophic including clients who are in a minimally conscious state (MCS). They deal with cases involving injuries arising from accidents or as a result of criminal assault, assessing whether there is a potential claim and providing legal support and guidance throughout the claims process.
Suzanne Munroe heads up the Clinical Negligence team in Sheffield, whilst Janet Baker leads the Clinical Negligence team in Sheffield. They have particular expertise in assisting clients who have suffered brain injury a result of complications during pregnancy or at birth. They also act in cases where someone has been injured during a surgical procedure or as a result of delayed diagnosis.
Suzanne, Janet and Mark are all recognised by clients and peers as committed, highly experienced and skilled injury lawyers.
Switalskis Brain Injury & Serious Injury and Clinical Negligence teams have a strong track record for obtaining significant damages for their clients, people who are often extremely vulnerable due to the severity of the injuries they have suffered. They place particular importance on achieving interim payments in order to fund early rehabilitation for their clients.
Lawyers, clients and their families will often have to work together long-term to achieve the desired result. Switalskis lawyers will provide support at every stage, taking a personal and caring approach in all cases.
