The Encephalitis Society is a registered charity and the only resource of its kind in the world providing support and information to people affected by encephalitis (an inflammation of the brain), their families and professionals involved in their care, across the globe.
Our award-winning support team ensures the right advice and information is provided when an individual and their family are faced with a devasting diagnosis of encephalitis.
Our vision is of a world where encephalitis and its effects are recognisable by both the professionals and public. The World Encephalitis Day, which we celebrate each year on 22nd of February, aims to raise awareness about encephalitis and its consequences worldwide.
The Society works in conjunction with academic and clinical partners to promote and conduct high quality research into encephalitis and its consequences and promote high standards for patient diagnosis, management and care.
