About Hugh James
Hugh James is a top 100 UK law firm and currently represents clients from all over the UK. It has a dedicated neurolaw team of specialist brain and head injury solicitors who have worked in this field for many years and understand the nature of such injuries. The team understands the particular needs and requirements of not just the individuals involved, but their families and carers too.
Hugh James’s brain injury legal specialists have secured millions of pounds of compensation over the past 20 years for individuals and their families affected by brain injury. Whilst this money will never compensate for the devastation that such injuries cause, it can help the injured person start to rebuild their lives and ensure all of their future needs are met.
Two Central Square,
About Andrew Harding
I am a partner at Hugh James and head of the firm’s Neurolaw Department, a unique multidisciplinary team representing only claimants and their families following a traumatic brain injury. For over 20 years I have been acting to secure the best possible results for people who have suffered a traumatic brain injury and their families and carers.
I am appointed deputy by the Court of Protection in a very significant number of cases where large damages awards have been made. I am instructed as an expert witness by other solicitors in relation to this field. I am a member of the Court of Protection Court Users Group and was formerly a member of the PGO Professional Deputies Forum and a member of the panel of deputies.
I have been a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel since its inception and a member of APIL. I sat as a Recorder on the Wales & Chester circuit for some years. I feel very proud that the Legal 500 guide to the profession said of my team:
“catastrophic/neurological injury matters are led by “absolute expert”, Andrew Harding who is also an “excellent” deputy.”
My commitment to helping people affected by brain injury extends well beyond my professional life and takes up much of my time outside the office. I became a committee member for Headway Cardiff shortly after its formation and have acted as Chairman for 10 years. I am also a member of the Board of Trustees of Headway UK. I initiated the establishment of the Children’s Brain Injury Trust Wales Group and am currently involved in establishing a South Wales ABIF. I have also sat on numerous NHS steering groups and committees in connection with brain injury rehabilitation and community services in Wales. I am frequently asked to present at conferences on the topic of brain injury.
