About Hyphen Law
Hyphen Law is a specialist law firm that provides advice and assistance in relation to personal injury trusts, all aspects of Court of Protection work, capacity issues and statutory funding. The majority of our clients lack the capacity needed to manage their finances due to an acquired brain injury and that means that we have a deep and specialist knowledge of what is needed to meet their needs.
We work with individuals, their families, and where our clients have ongoing Personal injury litigation - their litigation team.
We understand the importance of building strong relationships and we recognise that our clients needs vary according to their injury, their level of understanding, the value of their assets, family circumstances and their location (we cover the whole of England and Wales). Each of our clients is supported by their own dedicated team and we aim to be both accessible and cost effective.
In addition to providing a professional deputyship and trustee service we also support individuals who take on these roles. We can provide support with big projects like helping plan and adapt changes to the home or ongoing routine administrative tasks like making sure that tax returns, OPG reports or trust accounts are completed on time. We can also help to ensure that clients are getting the right kind of care and support at the right price, which may include putting them in touch with a specialist wealth manager, case manager, treating therapist, employing a dedicated team of support workers or obtaining a full entitlement to statutory funding and benefits.
We also provide expert evidence for the court on both deputyship and trust matters.

About Christine Bunting
I head the legal team at Hyphen Law and I have over 30 years’ experience of dealing with Court of Protection work and the creation and management of personal injury trusts. I specialise in the management of high-value personal injury awards arising from complex catastrophic injury and clinical negligence cases. I act as a professional deputy and trustee for many clients and I often begin my role whilst their personal injury litigation is in progress. I enjoy building strong relationships with my clients, their families and their wider support network and I have a particular interest in deputyships for children. Building relationships with my clients and their support network is a really important part of what I do. I am passionate about my work - for me it’s all about meeting individual needs — every client is different and I want to make sure they get the best possible quality of life.
I am a member of STEP and I lecture and write. I am an invited contributor to Facts and Figures: Tables for the Calculation of Damages in relation to Court of Protection matters and I act as an expert witness in relation to Deputyship and Trust Costs.
In my spare time I have the pleasure of fundraising for Cerebra; a national charity which supports children and young people with neurological conditions.
I work with clients throughout the whole of England and Wales.
