We have a national reputation for achieving highly successful results for brain injury clients in litigation and in managing finances via Deputyship or Trusts. We provide an approachable and holistic service. We have developed brain injury expertise and experience over many years and are recognised as leaders in this field.
We will always take a practical and sensitive approach, recognising the wider impact of brain injury on the lives of our clients and their families. We work to get early admissions of liability and interim payments (some have been in excess of £1million) to enable clients to start to rebuild their lives and get the accommodation, rehabilitation and support needed. We can also help with education issues, wills and trusts and Court of Protection involvement.
After settlement the Court of Protection team assist clients and families to live as normal a life as possible in the way they want to and never forget the importance of clients being able to be involved in decision making or their entitlement to have fun and do things that they enjoy.
We will always work as a team with you and our network of experts to achieve the best outcome for you and provide you and your family with full support along the way. Our service promise to you is to be available and responsive and to involve you and keep you informed throughout the whole of the time you are involved with us.
We will advise you free of charge and can offer a range of funding methods to ensure that you are not out of pocket financially if you decide to make a claim or need other help or legal advice. We will keep our charges for Trust or Deputyship management at rates approved by the Court of Protection to ensure that our clients pay as little as possible for the high quality services we provide.

About Helen Niebuhr
I head the personal injury and Court of Protection teams at CLmedilaw, after qualifying as a solicitor 1994. I also have an MBA in Management of Legal Practice.
Recognised as a specialist in clinical negligence and personal injury cases, I have successfully recovered damages and admissions in many high value cases including the highest lump sum award for a patient with cerebral palsy pre periodical payments of £6.6million in 2006 and frequent settlements in excess of £10million with periodical payments. I’m always willing to go the extra mile to pursue clients’ interests vigorously and take a client friendly approach. We never forget that its your, or your child's, case and your lives not ours.
I also act as Deputy in Court of Protection matters and as Professional Trustee for clients with personal injury or clinical negligence awards.
I’m proud to have been described in the legal directories as ‘a doughty and tenacious lawyer’ and ‘sensationally good’ with a national reputation as a brain injury and cerebral palsy specialist. I have been a speaker on courses for CLT, LexisNexis and other organisations and has regularly published articles in journals including Solicitors Journal, and been Lawyer of the Week in the Law Society Gazette.
My approach when acting as Deputy or Trustee is to ensure my clients and their families are involved in all decisions and enabled to do as much for themselves as possible.
