The webinar will answer questions such as:

  • Are e-scooters legal? If they are illegal, does this prevent riders from bringing a claim?
  • Are riders contributorily negligent simply for riding?
  • Are e-scooter riders ‘vulnerable road users’?
  • What does the future hold for e-scooter regulation?
  • What happens if a rider causes an accident? Who can you sue? Can the MIB be liable?
  • Are companies such as Deliveroo or Just Eat vicariously liable for the actions of their delivery workers?

About our speakers for the E-scooters and delivery drivers: an introduction for personal injury lawyers webinar

Kane Simons has a broad personal injury practice, acting for both claimants and defendants in cases involving serious and catastrophic injuries. Described in the Legal 500 (2021) as a ‘personal injury junior who is on his way up’, Kane acts in road traffic, employers’ liability and public liability claims. He has particular experience in matters involving injured cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians. His cases tend to involve brain injuries, chronic pain or complex orthopaedic injuries. He is head of the Civil and Personal Injury Department at 18 St John Street Chambers.
