Mark Tawn was admitted to the roll of solicitors in 1994 and for over 20 years he has specialised in personal injury litigation. Mark has been a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel since 1999 and has dealt with all manner of catastrophic and fatal injury claims, securing compensation for his clients totalling tens of millions of pounds.
Mark joined Davey Law in 2014 bringing with him many years of knowledge and experience to complement our serious injury team. As the lead solicitor concluding Davey Law’s largest settled case to date (an award of nearly £9.5m), Mark was humbled to receive the following testimonial from the parents of his client. They wrote:
“Throughout the litigation process Mark provided a very professional and dedicated service, paying particular attention to any details which would impact on our son’s future needs, whilst also being considerate and caring of both our son and our needs during this most difficult and trying time.”
Counsel (a barrister) has described Mark as:
“An immensely determined litigator, as bright as they come, and more assiduous than anyone else I have worked with, nailing each and every issue, especially regarding medical evidence – often involving marshalling and understanding volume after volume of records and notes. A warrior for his clients…”
A costs draftsman reporting the outcome of a detailed assessment wrote that the Master:
“…said you had provided the highest quality of service to a client that she had ever seen.”
Mark has a keen interest in chronic and complex pain conditions. He has successfully pursued many cases involving pain syndromes and disorders. In a recent claim involving a severe brain injury it was Mark’s close attention to his client’s medical records and his detailed questioning of medico-legal experts which lead to a diagnosis of a thalamic pain syndrome, now more commonly known as a central pain syndrome.
