David is a Partner leading a large team specialising in Serious Injury cases, mostly involving: traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputations and very significant orthopaedic injuries.

David has been awarded Higher Rights of Audience (Civil), giving him the same rights of audience in the Courts as a barrister. David is the Secretary for the Association of Personal Injury Lawyer’s (APIL) Brain Injury Group as well as being accredited by APIL as a Fellow and Brain Injury specialist. He assesses aspiring lawyers who wish to become brain injury accredited on behalf of APIL.

David has had articles published in the Journal of Personal Injury Lawyers, PI Focus, and NR Times. He also provides technical guidance to the national serious injury Team within Irwin Mitchell as well as providing advice to all national personal injury teams on funding issues. David specifically deals with serious injury cases with a likely value in excess of £250,000. He has recovered over £55million for his clients. The majority of his cases have an anonymity order by the Courts due to the Claimants’ lacking capacity.

In 2020, he presented to 225 aspiring lawyers in conjunction with the University of Law and Legal Cheek as well as presenting to 150 fellow lawyers on expert evidence in a virtual world. David co-led the set-up of a pro bono legal clinic at the Sheffield and District African Caribbean Community Association which is a weekly advice clinic.
