Our brain injury specialists
About Switalskis Solicitors
Founded as a niche firm specialising in child care and criminal law to provide high quality advice and representation to some of the most vulnerable members of society, Switalskis has grown to become one of the Yorkshire region’s largest legal firms. Quality of advice and service are at our core.
Our service now covers a wide range of legal disciplines. As well as teams specialising in complex claimant work including brain and serious injury and clinical negligence cases, we also deal with family and child-care law, wills and probate, conveyancing and Court of Protection law.
A forward-looking law firm with 22 Directors and over 250 staff, we have brought together some of the region’s most experienced lawyers to provide exceptional service and expertise. Every member of the Switalskis team recognises the diverse needs of our clients and will invest time in understanding the specific issues of each case, treating each one as unique.
Our Brain Injury & Serious Injury and Clinical Negligence teams have an enviable track record for obtaining significant damages for our clients, people who are often extremely vulnerable due to the severity of their injury. We believe it is particularly important to seek interim payments to fund early rehabilitation.
Lawyers, clients and their families will often have to work together over a long period to achieve the desired result; Switalskis lawyers will provide support at every stage, taking a personal and caring approach in all cases.
Mark Hollinghurst leads the specialist brain injury lawyers here at Switalskis. We act for clients throughout the north who have suffered head injuries of all levels of severity – from minor to catastrophic, including clients in a minimally conscious state (MCS). We deal with cases involving injuries arising from accidents or from criminal assault, assessing whether there is a potential claim and providing legal support and guidance throughout the claims process.
Suzanne Munroe leads the Clinical Negligence team in Sheffield, and Janet Baker leads the Clinical Negligence team in Sheffield. They have particular expertise in assisting clients who have suffered brain injury as a result of complications during pregnancy or at birth. They also act in cases where someone has been injured during a surgical procedure or because of delayed diagnosis.
Suzanne, Janet and Mark are all recognized by clients and peers as committed, highly experienced and skilled brain injury lawyers.
