If you, or someone you care for, has been the blameless victim of criminal violence, then compensation may still be available through a government funded body known as the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA).  It’s free to pursue a claim with them, although there are quite strict qualifying criteria, so potential claimants need to refer to the Guide to the 2012 Scheme on the government website www.justice.gov.uk.
