President of the Supreme Court, Lord Neuberger, fears that the legal aid cuts that come into force from April 1st could lead to higher court costs as people are driven to fight their own cases in court.

While the Ministry of Justice said legal aid would still be provided “to those who most need it”, Lord Neuberger has grave concerns that the cuts in legal aid will prevent people being able to bring their case to court.  The cost-cutting exercise is proving very controversial as its start date of April 1st draws near
