A young mother is accusing the hospital where her son was born of clinical negligence which led to him being starved of oxygen and subsequently suffering brain damage prior to his birth. Emma Morgan was known to be at risk of placenta abruption.
When she had abdominal pains prior to labour she feared it was the placenta abrupting but the hospital didn’t scan to check. Within hours, baby Brandon became separated from the placenta and his brain was starved of oxygen. Emma is now taking the hospital to court over the disabilities suffered by Brandon and believes the damage could have been avoided had he been born by caesarean section earlier.
