A 38-year old Australian man has been awarded ‘substantial compensation’ for the brain injury he sustained in a fall after stumbling in a three inch deep, 15 inch wide pavement pothole in Hornsey, London in 2007.  Kyle Bullock, then 33, required brain surgery and spent four months in hospital.  Wheelchair bound, he developed epilepsy, broke off his engagement and has returned to his family in Australia to continue his rehabilitation.  His claim was settled at the High Court after years of litigation: initially housing group Homes for Haringey denied liability for the state of the pavement. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-21785734
