Our Company provides supported living, outreach and transitional support services for Clients with acquired Brain Injuries. 6 Years ago we set up services to support (and still do) people with learning disabilities where we have discovered some of our clients have suffered brain injuries and due to our person centred approach we have recognised their support requires a slightly different approach.
Our goal is always to provide quality services which are tailored to meet the needs of the brain injured client. We have a Specialist Brain Injury Department with a specialist lead who has thirty years’ experience in the field of ABI, forensic and community rehabilitation. Furthermore 1st Enable’s Managing Director has a unique blend of experience at executive director level for legal expense insurance companies and understands the link between the complex personal injury legal sector, insurance and care/support sector. We can provide Specialist brain injury Assessments, costings, Person Centred Support planning and risk identification and management. We can provide, upon request, interim progress reports tailored to the clients set goals. We work diligently with a variety of health professionals such as Consultants in Neuropsychology, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Our ABI team has a background in forensic brain Injury and transitional support services. Our client group is unique with each person having their own individual needs. We understand that a person with a brain injury can be on a long pathway to gradual recovery with varying intensity of support at times. Our aim is to work with brain injury lawyers, insurance companies, NHS and Social Care to deliver dedicated and bespoke service provision all aimed to improve the lives of someone who has suffered a brain injury. We always approach each individual in an inclusive, dignified and non-judgemental way; respecting diversity and putting the person front and centre of our work. Our partnership with Fairhome Group Plc means that we can build purpose-built services including community flat schemes developed to a very high standard within the person’s individual environmental specification e.g. track-hoist systems, technology which aids recovery or improves independence. Fairhome Group have up to £3 billion of funding to deploy on such services. Our very unique partnership means Fairhome Group Plc and 1st Enable ABI services are in a very unique position to tailor supported living schemes.
1st Enable understand it is important to have skilled teams within our services. All of our staff who are and will be working with ABI clients are trained in brain injury awareness by our in-house specialist. We also train our staff in a variety associated areas such as Dysphagia and substance misuse for example.
