My specialist clinical and research interests are in the multi-disciplinary evaluation, investigation and management of complex neuro-ophthalmic disorders in both children and adults. Following training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children (GOSH) I had Fellowship training in Neuro-ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore.
My first Consultant appointment was at the National Hospital, Queen Square & St Mary’s Hospital Paddington. I was appointed in Oxford to establish a neuro-ophthalmology unit and ran this and the paediatric and strabismus services for over 25 years.
I have over 20 years’ experience in the preparation of medico-legal reports in aspects of paediatric and adult ophthalmology:
- Paediatrics including peri-natal brain injury & the presentation of intracranial pathology affecting vision
- Intracranial pathology affecting vision in adults including disorders of intracranial pressure, tumours affecting vision, inflammation, antibody mediated disorders, trauma etc
- Ocular motility disorders – “squint” / strabismus and ocular motor palsies
