Our Brain Injury Clinic is run by Dr Martine Stoffels, who is a consultant in adult, old age and rehabilitation psychiatry. She has worked in the field of neuropsychiatry for the last decade. She has extensive experience of working with people with a wide variety of neuropsychiatric conditions, including acquired and traumatic brain injury, as well as people who are developing neurodegenerative conditions, such as dementia.

As part of our brain injury clinic, we offer a range of services including:

  • Initial neuropsychiatric assessment
  • Development of individual treatment plan
  • Medication initiation and optimisation
  • Treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions, such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, OCD, PTSD and attention disorders, secondary to the brain injury.
  • Mental capacity act assessments including lasting power of attorney (LPA) for Health and Finance
  • Reports for the DVLA
  • Risk assessments and development of risk management plans

We also offer specialist intervention packages including:

  • Neuropsychological assessments
  • Talking therapies
  • Sleep assessment
  • Dietary and nutritional advice
  • Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
  • Assessment and treatment of attention and concentration difficulties
  • Medical cannabis initiation and optimisation

Phoenix Mental Health Services also has provides other dedicated clinics, notably:

  • rTMS with cognitive training to help people with Alzheimer’s disease
